Question & Answers

How do sessions work?

I work with individuals and couples in once or twice weekly sessions. As treatment progresses, we can evaluate whether a biweekly appointment works best. The initial intake session is one hour long and follow up sessions are 45 minutes.

Location, Fees and Insurance?

Location: I work with clients in the state of New York via telehealth or in-person in Downtown Brooklyn (26 Court Street).

Fees: The costs of my services are in line with those of other psychologists practicing in the New York City area. Please contact me for my current rates.

Insurance:  At this moment, I am an out-of-network provider. I will be happy to provide you with a superbill to submit to your insurance plan for reimbursement.

Cancellation: I have a 24-hour cancellation policy, meaning that the full fee for the appointment will be charged for cancellations with less than 24 hour notice.

Is it confidential?

Absolutely. Your privacy is respected and protected in therapy. If you would like me to talk to someone (e.g. your psychiatrist), then you can sign a release for me to do so. There are some limits to confidentiality. Because I am a mandated reporter, I am required to report child abuse, elder abuse, or if I feel you are a danger to yourself or others. Please read my informed consent for more details or feel free to ask me questions for clarification.

How long does therapy take?

The issues we will explore in therapy likely developed over many years, so understanding them and achieving meaningful change may take time. While every individual is unique and there is no fixed formula to calculate the duration of therapy, you will get the best results when you are consistent, engaged, and willing to look within yourself.
